YouTube, the amateur video service is rumoured to be on the verge of streaming full length movies from the likes of MGM. Soon, we could be enjoying James Bond, Legally Blonde and more, for free!

It’s all a bid to earn more in advertising revenue; something the service desperately needs to keep afloat, with such high bandwidth and storage costs.

But will the service be of any value? YouTube is characteristically slow, with small and bad quality streams. How much fun will the videos be in YouTube style?

If they do not deliver higher quality for the full length movies than for their normal videos the service will of course not be of any good use. Except for maybe downloading movies to watch on your phone while travelling.
  • Hopefully they will make it available in the UK, and not just in America.

I hope this will happen, now when youtube has expanded with HD and wide I really think this could be a big hit, almost like Spotify as Viktor says.

That would be sooo cool! It would be perfect because they have just introduced widescreen videos. Tho they have to introduce even higher quality. But I dont really understand how its gonna be for free to watch for example James Bond..? But Im sure they gonna find a way to work that out as they did with Spotify and free music. Im really looking forward to see if this is gonna go live! But hopefully it is gonna go live.
  • I liked it, although yes, it was quite a long film. Not as bad as Lord of the Rings though, 3 hours...

Quantum of Solace was rubbish though! It was so long and had no story line what so ever.

I agree! Who wants to watch films-especially 007 on a tiny screen? It's all a load of rubbish. Youtube should remain what it is, a place for amateurs like us to upload our videos. Enough said.
  • Especially such an action packed film. It would be ruined.

I hope they will show the new James Bond film on youtube. How cool would that be!
